12 Days of Christmas Writing Challenge
What is it we're looking for, you ask?
A TwiFic twist on the popular childrens song The 12 Days of Christmas, we provide the prompts you provide the stories. Don't worry whether you're NAUGHTY OR NICE, we want it all.
Beginning December 1st and continuing until December 12th, we will post prompts at http://www.blogger.com/www.twigirlsnextdoor.com to inspire your creative genius.
You will be given two prompts per day. You ONLY need to choose one of the two to write each day. But you may choose to include both prompts in your chapter/one-shot.
In the end, you should have either a 12 chapter story OR 12 one-shots with a Christmas theme. Each chapter/one-shot MUST be at least 100 words. There is NO maximum word limit.
Please write in order of the prompts. For example, the Day One prompt(s) should be your first chapter or first one-shot. Please list the prompt(s) that you chose as the corresponding chapter/one-shot title.
Don’t worry if you come upon the challenge after December 1st, you can still join in the fun, just go through the prior days prompts and begin writing. There will be 2 weeks at the end of the challenge to finish up your submissions, post them to your FanFiction profile, and submit your entry. All entries must be submitted by 11:59 PST on December 25th, 2010.
Timing:
December 1st, 2010 to December 12th, 2010 - Two prompts will be posted each day
December 13th, 2010 to December 25th, 2010 - Entries will be accepted
December 26th – December 31st – Public Voting (there will be a FFn poll link located at the top of the 12 Days of Christmas FanFiction profile
January 1st, 2011 – Winners Announced at the 12 Days of Christmas FanFiction Profile and TwiGirls Next Door, "The Fictionators" and TwiFic News websites on January 1st, 2011, along with being announced LIVE on TwiFic News Blog Radio and a LIVE Twitter feed.
Submitting Your Story:
All entries must be posted to YOUR FanFiction profile and submitted via email to 12daysofchristmas@twigirlsnextdoor.com by 11:59 PST on December 25th, 2010.
There should only be one entry per author - if you are submitting 12 one-shots, they should be
posted as ONE story where each one-shot is posted as a separate chapter.
The prompt(s) that you use for each chapter/one-shot should be listed as the chapter/one-shot title.
All entries will appear as a separate story in the 12 Days of Christmas FanFiction Community.
Judges, Winners, & Prizes:
There will ONLY be 1 winner decided by a public vote along with the Judge’s Choice winner(s).
The Public Poll winner and the Judge's Choice winner(s) will receive a banner for any story designed and agreed upon by 4String.

So, what are the rules?
-Contest is open to all pairings.
-No rape, incest, pedophilia or excessive drug use will be allowed.
-Entries can be human or vampire.
-Any rating will be accepted.
-Collaborations or a solo entry accepted, max of 2 entries per person/collab team.
-All entries must be a minimum of 100 words per chapter/one-shot.
-Entries cannot have been published anywhere prior to December 1st, 2010.
-Entries cannot be continued until AFTER the contest is over.
-Once you have submitted for validation your story, no changes can be made.
-Please have your story beta’ed.
Stories will be validated for spelling and grammar, and if the story does not pass validation, it will be returned to you. You will, however, be welcome to resubmit it with corrections to spelling or grammar. If you wish to obtain a beta and do not already have one, we strongly recommend you check out Project Team Beta.
